A Trailblazer in Indian Tourism

Shri T. Balamurugan holds the distinction of being the first Tamilian to complete a Master’s Degree in Travel & Tourism Management from the prestigious Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM), an institute under the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. His academic credentials, combined with his practical insights, make him a role model for countless young tourism professionals across India.

With over 8 years of experience in the travel industry, his journey is both unique and inspiring.

From Government Service to Groundbreaking Tourism Projects

In 2022, Shri T. Balamurugan was selected as a Tourism Nodal Officer by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India — an honor earned by only the most talented tourism experts in the country. He secured All India Rank 2 in the selection process, a remarkable achievement.

His first posting in Chhattisgarh saw him implementing key government protocols, where he played a pivotal role in promoting tribal tourism and cultural heritage. His contributions earned him a promotion within a year, leading to his appointment as Special Officer in Gujarat.
